ServerEngines BEM3H10 is a Dual port 10 Gigabit Ethernet server mezzanine card for HP BladeSystem c-Class server blades. BEM3H10 is based on ServerEngines BladeEngine ASIC with innovative purpose-built hardware architecture to carry network and storage traffic on the same Ethernet fabric. Programmable, hardware-based QoS and traffic shaping allows fine-grain control over the mix of network and storage traffic that is put into the unified Ethernet fabric.

BEM3H10 dramatically improves the performance of network and storage intensive applications on HP BladeSystems by fully offloading the processing of TCP and iSCSI protocols. On-chip programmable industry-standard embedded cores and hardware engines handle the processing of TCP and iSCSI protocols, freeing the host CPU for application processing.

For virtual machines, BEM3H10 brings near-native network and storage performance by exposing virtual network and storage interfaces that can individually be assigned to each virtual machine. Programmable hardware-based QoS and traffic shaping allows fine-grain control over each virtual network and storage interface.

BEM3H10 supports OS-agnostic boot from SAN and crash dumps, for physical servers and virtual machines. This unique feature is a result of the full hardware offload for iSCSI and storage virtualization. The onboard management processor is available for pre-boot configuration and brings powerful bare metal provisioning capabilities to datacenters.

The BEM3H10 is supported by a robust suite of drivers for industry-standard operating systems and virtual machine hypervisors. The APIs exposed by the drivers are further enhanced by ServerEngines industry standard advanced management APIs that integrate seamlessly into major enterprise management tool suites from OEMs and third-party software houses.

Based on industry standard Ethernet, the BEM3H10 allows customers to leverage their investments in Ethernet-based networks and decades of proven protocol reliability, expertise and management tool suites.
